This past weekend was our home race, and we are proud to say we had plenty of great results! On Saturday, we had our road race and team time trial in the small town of Bethel, NC. The road races varied from 26-62 miles and the time trial was a standard 6 mile route. On Sunday, we raced in Downtown West Jefferson with more great results in every race. William & Mary Weekend

ASU racers traveled to William & Mary over the weekend to compete in the second weekend of the collegiete season. Saturday’s road races started out in the morning with near freezing temperatures accompanied by drizzling rain. ASU had racers in the men’s and women’s C categories. NC State weekend starts off the road season!

After our first road race weekend at NC State University, the Appalachian State University Cycling team is currently ranked fourth overall in the ACCC. Individually, we had some great results! Saturday’s road race included an 11.5 mile loop at Jordan Lake, where Wilson Fowler finished fourth in the Men’s D category and Forrest Howard finished fifth in the Men’s C race. After a long weekend in Virginia, six teammates are finally limping back into Boone. Our team is reminded of the course described as incredible, a blast, and loads of fun by the aches and pains sustained during races. App State Cycling leads the conference for MTB!

Wish us luck this weekend as we travel to William & Mary and Virgina Commonwealth University to maintain our lead in the conference! We are currently leading the conference over NC State and Virginia Tech, as well as James Wittwer and Miles Hubbard leading the Men's A for the conference. Michael Potter and Alex McMahon are also 1st and 2nd in the Men's B category and Kristopher Shook is 3rd in the Men's C.
