Home Mountain Bike Race Weekend 10/10-11/2015

Oct 13, 2015
The home mountain bike race is arguably the most looked-forward-to event of the season because of the huge turnout from our team, and the home course advantages. This year was no different. This weekend a total of 22 racers from App State attended, which is the most of any race so far. Saturday we had our cross country race up on Beech Mountain at Emerald Outback, with the highest elevation trails on the east coast. These trails were full of roots and the course was split up with a long gravel...

West Virginia MTB Weekend Recap

Sep 24, 2015
The App State Cycling team sent 10 riders to West Virginia last weekend for conference racing at Big Bear Lake.  It was not as mountainous as we’re used to, but there were some good descents nonetheless.Saturday started with a Super D gravity event.  It was run as a mass start, so the whole shot into the woods was critical.  Through the chaos, App State came out on top.  Hayden Miller and Matt Moosa ran one and two in the Men’s A.  In Men’s B, Jordan Bouldin and...

George Mason and Lees McRae races 9/12-9/13

Sep 15, 2015

Up in Virginia, Saturday was a muddy, rainy day on the course. The trails were flowy with some root sections and short, fast climbs. Van Hubbard came in 4th in his...

William and Mary MTB Recap

Sep 7, 2015

Everyone was an experienced rider, but five of the racers that went were new to the team, so it was great seeing them in App State kits for the first time. This was a...

This past weekend Collegiate Mountain Bike Nationals landed in our own backyard.  The team sent nine riders out to Beech Mountain to compete against the top riders in the country.  One of these riders, Alex Dawson, went on to win the downhill race to become the national champion.  We are so proud to have him as part of the team and appreciate all the hard work he put in to make this happen.        ...
