Last Weekend 9 App State riders went to Oklahoma to compete in the Tulsa Tough. Races were held Friday, Saturday and Sunday under the sun in blistering downtown Tulsa. Throughout the long weekend, the team stayed hydrated with a wide variety of GU Products. The App State team had many top 20 finishes, with 3rd place finishes on both Saturday and Sunday by Coach/Advisor Sean Weddell. Magic Cycles/App State Cycling Burn 24 Team

The Magic Cycles/App State Team will be competing in one of the biggest mountain bike races in the Southeast this weekend, The Burn 24 Hour race. The team is made up of Clayton Omer, James Wittwer, Andrew Diever-Scott, Zeb King and Michael Koballa, an App State Cycling Alumni. Koballa is taking the spot of Derek Whitescarver who is still out due to an injury sustained at Tour de Moore. The team finished 3rd last year and is looking to win this year. The Appalachian State University Cycling Team’s elite summer program, ASU Cycling p/b Magic Cycles, traveled to Raleigh, N.C. this past weekend to take on some of the best in the region at the 65 mile Berger Hardware Bikes Road Race. Despite the small regional race vibe, the competition was stiff with a number of professional and elite teams present in a sixty man field. We are in the process of trying to put together a mid to late summer clothing order from Hincapie Sportswear, supplier of the team’s kits for the past 2 or 3 years. After long hours of winter base training, the App State Cycling team is anxiously anticipating their first road race of the season at NC State this weekend. It is a double road race weekend, with road races on Saturday and Sunday.
