WVU Race Report

Apr 13, 2011
This past weekend the team traveled to West Virginia for the second to last race of the year. Saturday was the Criterium and Sunday was the road race. ASU continued its dominating ways in winning the overall weekend. On Saturday the women A's went 1,2,3 with Ashley James taking the win. Ashley lapped the field and Nina Laughlin and Rachel VandenEnde finished 2,3 respectively. The Men's B saw Derek Whitescarver take the win and Zeb getting 4th (with his pink cast on his broke wrist). WVU, here we come!

Apr 6, 2011
The team has only 2 conference races left in the 2011 road season, WVU and VT (Conference Weekend). We are very excited to end the season strong, and (hopefully) bring home the D1 ACC Conference win! WVU Weekend should be a great weekend. Saturday's race is a crit in downtown Clarskburg, WV and Sunday's race is a road race with an epic climb and a little bit of gravel. Stay tuned for results early next week!

Still In The Lead!

Mar 11, 2011
After a weekend of domination at Duke, ASU is still on top for the D1 title! On Saturday, Clayton Omer took the Men's A win with girlfriend, Ashley James taking first in Women's A! Now that's a talented couple! Nina Laughlin came in 2nd for Women's A, Rachel VandenEnde finished 4th for Women's A, Olu came in 4th for Men's C, and Justin Evans took 3rd in Men's B. Sunday was a very rainy, dirty, and wet day. Despite the nasty weather, the team pulled off some great results. Women's A went 1,2,3...

Home Race March 19th and 20th

Feb 28, 2011
The Officers are hard at work planning our 2011 HOME ROAD RACE! We were not given a home road race weekend when the original ACC road race schedule was planned, but since another team backed out on their weekend, ASU has been given the "OK" to plan a race! Our races will be held March 19th-20th in Wilkesboro, NC. The team time trial (Saturday afternoon) and criterium (Sunday morning) will be held at the Historic North Wilkesboro Speedway. The road race (Saturday morning) will start...

Domination Train

Feb 24, 2011
App State Cycling is still on top for Division 1 ACC Cycling! After a triple race weekend at William and Mary, the mountaineers were able to hold their lead over the Naval Academy. Highlights of the weekend included 1st and 2nd place by Ashley James and Nina Laughlin in both the Women's A road race and time trial, and the TOP THREE spots taken by Ashley James, Nina Laughlin, and Rachel VandenEnde in the Women's A crit after a nasty crash took out most of the field (including Rachel, who got...
