Upcoming Racing Fun!

After an incredibly enjoyable weekend of racing Downhill and Cyclocross at Hawksnest this past weekend, the team is ready to finish out the cyclocross season with a bang! This weekend we will be racing our cyclocross bikes with our friends at Virginia Tech! We will be finishing out the season by hosting the ACC Conference Championship at home! Come on out and support your App State Cyclists!!

2010 Collegiate Mtn Bike Nationals

The 2010 Collegiate Mtn Bike Nationals ended up being a HUGE success in our first year competing in the much more difficult, star-studded Division 1. The team ended up 12th in the United States at the conclusion of the weekend. The group of eight riders spent six days in California at the Northstar Resort at Lake Tahoe. Caroline Westray lead the group with the best results finishing 4th overall in the Women's Downhill Competition and 5th overall in the Women's 4X race. A big congratulations...

Half the team landed yesterday and the rest of the squad will be arriving today. We have just been familiarizing ourselves with the resort and the area. We are currently building our bikes back up before the XC guys go check out the course for our 30 mile XC race tomorrow at 12. More updates, results and photos to follow soon........

Mountain Conference Wrap Up

Mountain Season came to a close last weekend with Conference Championships held at WVU. Andrew Mueller took the win in the Men's A Downhill race, and Steven Trottier proved his talent for the win in the Men's A Dual Slalom event. Zeb King finished fifth in the Men's A Cross Country event. The team finished fourth overall for the season, not bad for it's first year in Division 1! Hey Everyone, We are currently working on getting the other pages on this site up and working. In the meanwhile, please ignore the "info" page that says we have 5:30pm Meetings on Thursday nights. From now on, all our team meetings will be at 7:15pm on Thursdays in the McRae Peak Room of the Student Union. Also, come join us for Monday Night Ride! We meet every Monday night at 6pm behind the Convocation Center. This coming Monday is Labor Day so we will be having a cookout at Zeb's...

Another great year in the books

The App State Cycling Team finished their season strong earning third place overall for ACCC Division Two. The team had very strong showings at their home race (Boone Roubaix and the Boone Mall Crit) as well as the Conference races at Virginia Tech. UVA/VCU and Home Race next weekend!

Last weekend, the ASU Cycling Team traveled to Doswell, VA to race in two crits hosted by UVA and VCU. Saturday, Olu Ogunlela placed 7th for Men's D, Andrew DeVierScott finished 15th in Men's C, and Brad Kendall came out in 15th in a tough Men's A field. Sunday the crit course changed slightly and ASU riders were ready to race. Andrew Murphy finished 14th for Men's C, Olu worked hard for 4th in Men's D, and Brad Kendall took 12th in Men's A. William & Mary Weekend

After another snowy week in Boone, ten App State riders traveled up to Williamsburg, Virginia for a great weekend of sunny racing. Saturday morning was the individual time trial held at York River State Park. The 12.5 mile course took its toll on the riders but ASU managed to have some great finishes!
