Cyclocross Mid Season

Last weekend NC State held their home race in conjunction with the NCCX series races in Cary/Raleigh. App riders had several impressive finishes including first place collegiate finishes by Noah Niwinski and Allison Forkner. Mountain Nationals Report

Congratulations to our mountain riders for great results at Nationals! Our very own Mike Thomas, otherwise known as "Moto Mike" won the Division Two Men's Downhill Race! This is the second individual title that Mike has taken in this event! Cross Season Begins

ASU Cyclists Brad Kendal and James Wittwer dominated the Men's B field at this past weekend's cyclocross races in Richmond, Virginia. App State is currently in first place for the Division Two ACCC Conference in Cyclocross. The next races are scheduled for October 24th and 25th in Raleigh, NC.

MOUNTAIN CONFERENCE CHAMPS!

2009 Mountain Division Two Conference Champs! In addition to the team title, ASU cyclists swept the podium with several individual overall titles for the season. Thatcher Hurt first place overall for the Men's A, Dan Sapp close behind in second for Men's A, James Wittwer first place Men's B, Caroline Westray first place Women's A, and Claire Tuttle first place Women's B! Dual Conference Mountain Bike Race

App State Cycling is hosting a dual conference mountain bike race along with Lees McRae College on September 19th and 20th. The races will be held at Lees McRae College in Banner Elk, NC and Hawksnest Resort in Seven Devils, NC. The courses promise to bring out some of the best mountain riders on the east coast. The gravity guys are hosting a downhill race at Hawksnest this weekend that promises to be one of the coolest things coming out of the High Country. Qualifications are Saturday from 12-7, Pro qualifications start on Sunday at 12:00 with racing kicking off at 1:00. With the fall semester quickly approaching, the men and women of ASU cycling are once again converging on Boone. The 2009-2010 school year promises to be exciting with many strong riders returning and some new faces providing the numbers to go after a second national mountain bike title. Road season comes to a close...

After a banner Fall season, ASU Cycling fought hard this spring to claim second place in the ACCC road season. A hard charging Pfeiffer University team took their first conference title with ASU only 7 points behind in the final conference standings. With a dominant close to the season and many riders ready for upgrades, all can rest assured that the men and women from Boone are fired up for the conference road title next year in 2010! Another intense weekend of racing brought out the best from some of ASU's finest riders. Virginia Tech hosted a spectacular weekend and we sent out largest road team to date. Saturday started with a rolling road race course, and Ariel Leath and Ariana DeBussey made their first road appearance of the season, taking 5th and 7th place in Women's C.
