Another intense weekend of racing brought out the best from some of ASU's finest riders. Virginia Tech hosted a spectacular weekend and we sent out largest road team to date. Saturday started with a rolling road race course, and Ariel Leath and Ariana DeBussey made their first road appearance of the season, taking 5th and 7th place in Women's C. WVU Weekend

The App State Cycling Team made the long drive to Morgantown, West Virginia for a full and important weekend of racing. The action started Saturday morning with an individual time trial featuring a large climb on an otherwise very fast course. Amanda Gilbert was able to edge out a Pfieffer rider, gaining the team valuable points in the Women's A race. ASU Race Weekend

Well, it looks like details on our home race are finalized, so get excited! We'll need as many volunteers as we can get, and ASU students race for free, so try to make it to as much of the weekend as you can. The flyer can be found here. With the Start of Spring break the Mountaineers headed to the coast of Williamsburg. Day 1 started with the an ITT where Rachel led us out with an impressive 7th. Road Season Begins

Appalachian State Cycling took off from Boone this afternoon, setting out for the first ACCC Road races of the season. The weekend is being hosted by our friends at NC State University. The weekend will see a Road Race in Chatham County on Saturday and a Criterium on Centennial Campus on Sunday. National Champions Once Again

The Appalachian State Cycling Team traveled to Kansas City, Missouri this past week to compete in the cyclocross national championships. While several riders raced in a variety of different races, the highlight of the weekend came on the last day, when the Black and Gold (and Muddy) Train brought home the DII Team title. The Appalachian State Cycling Team is currently working hard to prepare for Cyclocross National Championships in Kansas City, Missouri in just over a month. The Black and Gold train will be competing on December 14th for their second National Champion team title for the year. This past weekend, the App State Cycling Team traveled to Banner Elk to compete in the 2008 MTB National Championships. After three epic days of racing, the 8 man, 3 woman squad walked away with two individual wins as well as the 2008 DII Team National Championship!
